I've had quite a few people reach out to me, inquiring about 'these shakes' i'm always talking about, so let's talk!
Welcome to ViSalus shakes 101:
What is it? :

For the most part, I drink my shakes for breakfast, after I work out, and for lunch. That way I can eat dinner with my family. But if i have a lunch date one day, i'll drink a shake for breakfast and dinner. You choose and it can change every day.
You can mix the power with any liquid of your choice. I like to do one fruity one with greens, and one chocolatey one with milk or almond milk. The possibilities endless.
- Eat healthy snacks in between each 'meal' (shake)
This one can be hard, because we get busy and finding healthy snacks can overwhelm us. But this is also so important because you need to be eating small meals all day long; 1. So your metabolism keeps working, and 2. So you don't get hungry! Starving yourself is NOT the way to lose weight.
Also, people say shakes are hard for them because they miss chewing. . . well that's what your snacks are for!
- Drink lots of water (as you always should)
- Stay on schedule, write it down!
It's helpful for me to make a chart at the beginning of each week. I write out my schedule and check it off as the day goes by. That way it keeps me on track and makes me think twice about eating candy (i must admit, i schedule in candy because if i deprive myself of it, i eat way more than i usually would)
Like I said, I eat dinner with my family for my third meal. Since I have been strict all day with my shakes and snacks, I make and eat the meals I normally do. The only difference is that I am careful with my portions. Don't be too hard on yourself, but be smart.
After dinner, I eat a little treat then I don't eat past 7. Brush your teeth and drink water.
- Commit and give yourself time
This works! But it only works if you stick to the program. ViSalus is set up as a 90 day challenge, so remember, the best results will come if you stick with the full 90 days.
TAKE BEFORE PICTURES and TAKE YOUR MEASUREMENTS EACH WEEK! This is important. You will lose weight, but you will also lose inches! With women, we seem to lose more inches rather than weight… but isn't that what we want?! Don't worry so much about the scale, because isn't the way we feel and look in our clothes what really matters?
Keeping track of this will also give you the motivation to keep going. It's so exciting to watch your body transform each week and you'll want to stick to it!
- Exercise
It's not required, but of course, you'll feel better, look better, and get better results if you do. Exercise is important, and key to being healthy and feeling well. So I HIGHLY recommend exercising at least 5x a week.
